Main Camp Outfitting at the 2026 Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show

2026 Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show

We’re excited to announce that Main Camp Outfitting is at the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show this week from February 11th to 15th!

If you’re dreaming about crisp northern mornings, echoing bull grunts during the rut, and the kind of hunting stories that last a lifetime, come see us. We’d love to shake your hand, talk moose, and help you plan the adventure you’ve been waiting for.

2026 Is Nearly Full: Now Booking 2027

Our calendar is filling quickly. We have only a couple of spots left for 2026, and we are now officially booking into 2027.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us for a true northern moose hunt, now is the time. Our rut hunts are limited, intentional, and focused on giving each hunter the full experience; not just a tag, but a story worth telling.

Last year’s rut hunt was one for the books. We had three generations of hunters join us in camp. Grandfather, father, and son. All three harvested a moose. But what made the hunt truly successful wasn’t just the filled tags. It was the early mornings filled with anticipation, campfire stories and belly laughs, and the lifelong memories made between three generations.

There’s something powerful about sharing the wilderness together. Watching the excitement a grandfather has for his grandson as he shoots his animal. Seeing a father and son stand side by side after a successful harvest. Those are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. Camp was full of energy, camaraderie, and the kind of stories that get better every year they’re told.

Why Hunt the Rut With Main Camp Hunting Outfitters Alberta?

The rut is when it all comes alive. Bulls are vocal. They’re responsive. The experience is intense, interactive, and unforgettable. At Main Camp Outfitting, we focus on:

  • Authentic, hard-working northern hunts
  • Small, quality groups
  • Experienced guides who know the land
  • Creating an atmosphere where memories are just as important as harvests

We don’t just guide hunts; we build experiences.

Come See Us at the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show

If you’re in Portland this weekend, make sure to stop by our booth. We’d love to share stories from last season, walk you through what a rut hunt looks like, and talk availability for 2026 and 2027.

The best hunts are planned early, and the rut doesn’t wait.

Uncover the Age of Your Trophy: The Wildlife Analytics Lab in Lethbridge, Alberta

Uncover the Age of Your Trophy: The Wildlife Analytics Lab in Lethbridge, Alberta

When you book your next hunting adventure with Main Camp Outfitting, you’re signing up for an unforgettable experience in the wilds of Alberta which is home to some of the most sought-after hunting grounds in North America. After a successful hunt, many hunters are eager to know more about the animal they’ve harvested, especially its age.

That’s where Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Wildlife Analytics Lab comes in. This one-of-a-kind facility offers a unique service to hunters across Canada: By sending in a tooth or jawbone from your harvest, you can learn the exact age of the animal you’ve taken—providing an exciting new layer of understanding to your hunt.

What Is the Wildlife Analytics Lab?

The Wildlife Analytics Lab at Lethbridge Polytechnic is Canada’s only facility that offers tooth aging services for hunters. Through a simple process, hunters can send in a tooth or a section of a jawbone from the animal they’ve harvested. The lab uses specialized techniques to examine the tooth’s wear and structure, revealing the animal’s exact age. Whether it’s a majestic moose, a powerful bear, or an elusive wolf, knowing the age of the animal you’ve harvested adds valuable insight into your hunt.

How Does It Work?

After your hunt, you’ll want to carefully remove a tooth or a portion of the jawbone from your animal. Once you’ve done that, simply send it to the Wildlife Analytics Lab for analysis. The lab’s expert team will analyze the tooth, looking at the amount of wear and tear to determine the age of the animal. It’s a fascinating process that gives hunters the chance to learn more about the creatures they pursue—allowing you to truly appreciate the life cycle of the animals you encounter.

This service isn’t just for the seasoned hunter—whether you’re a first-timer or a veteran, it’s a unique way to connect with the animals you hunt and gain a deeper understanding of their biology. And it’s not just about adding another layer to your trophy—it’s about fostering a deeper respect for the wildlife you pursue.

Why Is It Important?

Determining the age of the animal you harvest offers more than just curiosity—it plays a vital role in wildlife conservation. As a Hunting Outfitter in Alberta, Main Camp Outfitting supports researchers and conservationists to ensure sustainable hunting practices. By sending a tooth or jawbone to the Wildlife Analytics Lab, you’re not only uncovering more about your hunt but also contributing to vital wildlife research.

This data helps researchers monitor species populations, track the health of various game animals, and better understand the life cycles of these incredible creatures. Additionally, knowing the age of your animal can help you make more informed decisions about your hunt—whether that means focusing on mature, non-breeding animals or simply appreciating the years of survival that your trophy represents.

The Only Lab of Its Kind in Canada

What makes the Wildlife Analytics Lab in Lethbridge so special is that it’s the only facility in Canada dedicated to tooth aging for wildlife. This makes it an invaluable resource for hunters in Alberta and across the country. If you’re booking a hunt with Main Camp Outfitting, this lab offers you a unique opportunity to learn more about your harvest and the wilds of Alberta.

The Wildlife Analytics Lab enhances the hunting experience by providing hunters with detailed, accurate information about the animals they encounter. It’s not just about the hunt—it’s about fostering a connection with the land and the wildlife that call Alberta home.
